ADRA Cayman accepted the call as stewards of the Cayman community, to assist those less fortunate in need for basic food and sanitary supplies for the 2011 Christmas holidays. We know all too well the great need out in the Cayman Islands community today, ADRA Director Benny Moore says. Deputy ADRA Director Dean Evans also champions the call to reach out to the community during this time of year, as he stated; “We know that there are families of all different backgrounds that need some assistance in meeting their basic needs and ADRA is committed to meeting the needs of our community.”
ADRA Cayman partnered with Fosters Food Fair (IGA) across Grand Cayman and had our volunteers out with their mission faces on. ADRA , through the partnership of FFF, were able to collect a significant amount of non perishable food items that resulted in a very successful food drive for the community. ADRA’s Deputy Director Dean Evans says that they were already in contact with key government agencies that work closely with the special needs of the community and was expecting to hand over a vary large quantity of food gift donations in the coming days. There will also be similar food gift packages donated through the various Seventh-day Adventist Church officers to persons of the communities in their respective districts.
ADRA Cayman wish to thank the Fosters Food Fair (IGA) management, Mr. Woody Foster for his role in assisting in this invaluable community program as well as to that of Heston Ltd. who donated two pallets of similar nonperishable items to support the food drive.
A special thank you to all our ADRA volunteers and to all those that contributed to this community outreach program. With Gods blessings to all during the Christmas holiday season!
